我们看到黎明的云雾中涌出一轮光彩夺目的红日——橘红色和蓝色强烈的反差。这是勒阿弗尔港口一个朦胧的早晨,晨曦雾气中的云朵被红日染成微红,小船在朦胧中依稀可辨。水中深色粗旷、厚薄不同、长短不一的笔触展现了水波的动感,而橘色黄色点缀了出了水中太阳的倒影。船桅时而被水波遮挡,而船影似乎在摇曳中消失于迷雾里。
